Massive campaign against Polythene at regional level
Inaugration and Premier of the film
On date 21, November, 1999 this film was showed on all the cables; Mewar,
Maharana, Vaishali and Soni Cable network of the city, Udaipur. This film
was appreciated and seen by atleast 2 lakh peoples of the city.
As per the results many people expressed their views on the bad results
of the polythenes on their telephones and writing letters. They also have
taken oath to stop using the polythene.
Posters & Banner Campaign
Under the wings of this movement the most important source were
posters and banners. The poster was inaugrated by the present Manav Sansadan
Vikas minister-Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi. Dr. Joshi also appreciated this
movement and he declared this as a powerful medium for awakening the people
for the protection of environment. An Anti-Polythene Campaign was also conducted
during this movement and Posters were also printed for distributing among
the people. Banners were put at various places. 1200 Jute Bags were also
distributed by the Rotary Club.
Slogan Competitions
Under the wings of this movement “Polythene Bags : Khatre Anake”
Taking as a subject, a slogan competition was also conducted-2000 students
took part in it and took oath not to use polythene bags. On this occassion,
students expressed their views with full enthusiasm against polythene.
One truck of Polythen-Removed from Pichola Lake
During the movement against the polythene bags Alok Institution and Fatehpura
Interact Club took out, a truck full of polythene bags containing the heap
of flowers from the water ofthe lakes from the Amarkund area at Pichola
by 400 students which was an appreciated work for environmental pollution.
This cleaniness movement was started by our chief guest Sh. Virendra Bapna
the manager and movement organiser of this programme Dr. Pradeep Kumawat
who took the polythene bags out of the lakes. At one side the students took
out the garlands and the bags containing dirty things from the bank of the
lakes where as on the other side some of the students took out 2 dead animals
from the water. They put the polythenes in to the Nagar Parishad trucks
with the help of baskets and containers under this movement. People living
near by areas also extended their support and helped in this movement.
Staging of Nukkad Natak ‘Polythen Ka Anawaran’
Under anti-polythene campaign in organisation of Mass-awareness programme
for environmental protection Nukkad Natak “Polythene Ka Anawaran”
was presented at Jagdish Chowk, Gangaur Ghat and Hathipole Chouraha (Udaipur)
areas of city. Through various characters students communicated the harmful
effects of polythene on environment in this show of Diretor Pradeep Kumawat.
It was shown through the Natak that how polythene as a slow-poison adversely
affects the life of a common man & the environment.
This play depicted how human beings, animals and plants can be affected
by the hazards of polythene through clear & simple dialogues.
Campaign symbol was Introduced-Anti Polythene Campaign
Founder-Chairman of Alok Institute, Sh. Shyam Lal Kumawat released the campaign
symbol under anti-polythene campaign, Campaign director Dr. Pradeep Kumawat
reported that these.
Postcard Campaign, included in anti-polythene campaign
Postcard campaign was started by writing 251 postcards under the second
stage of anti-polythene campaign, Campaign Director Dr. Pradeep Kumawat
said that senior students of Alok School, Hiran Magri wrote postcards to
P.M. Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and C.M. Sh. Ashok Gehlot requesting them
to put ban on polythene as it is the only way to solve this problems. These
students also nentioned in their postcards that flying rainbow polythene
are poluting our country’s land & water environment.
Ayad (Rainy River) remove polythene campaign
Dr. Pradeep Kumawat, who has been organising Anti-polythene campaign since
last 5 years. In the first step Interact Club members of Alok Senior Secondary
School, Hiran Magri, Alok Sr. Sec. School Fatehpura Interact Club &
Rotract Club ‘Pratap’ and Bharat Vikas Parishad ‘Vivekanand’
member rendered 2 hours social service to start with the campaign.
Dr. Pradeep Kumawat demanded to make strict law like in Himachal Pradesh
for using polythene. One such letter was forwarded to District Collector
& Mayor of the city. Dr. Kumawat got 5000 poster published & distributed
to various school & tried to send this message to every nook & corner
of this city.

Massive campaign against
Polythene at national level
In todays competition for urbanisation man has his responsibility towards
the environment. But, as per the responsibility, Dr. Pradeep Kumawat has
organised many Nukkad Natakas of, when the cows & other domestic animals
have eaten polythene how they would be effect. He has tried to bring awareness
under the wings of this campaign Dr. Kumawat has directed the features film
‘Hum Tumse Darte Hain’ for stopping the use of polythene. For
this he was awarded by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan i.e. Sh. Ashok Gehlot
in the year 2000.
This is Dr. Kumawats personal efforts due to which opposition of polythene
campaign was stared at the International level. As a result the credit for
the banning of polythene in Udaipur as well as Rajasthan goes to only one
Dr. Kumawat.
For bringing mass awareness against polythene you did poster campaign, postcard
campaign, theme shows, Nukkad Natakas, human awareness ralley, paper bags,
banner campaigns etc. Running of all these campaign has helped a lot in
reducing environment pollution.
Awards awarded in the field of environment. Rotary Environment Award in
year 2003-04 from the Rotary Club Udaipur.

Research on harmful effect of Polythene
Dr. Pradeep Kumawat has done research on the harmful effects of Polythene
through the information from newspaper, books and internet. He has collected
all the datas and information and presented them in easy way, even he has
prepared 10,000 booklets of 25 pages and distributed them in society.
Film on Polythene pollution
After the hand work of 15 days, Dr. Pradeep Kumanwat has found the places
where polythenes were thrown on streets. These polythenes were adversely
effecting the beauty of environment as well as Udaipur film was shot at
these places. 2 video cameras were used in shooting this film of 40 min.
After putting in so much hard efforts, this film was completed awaken the
masses. Its next part ‘Hum Tumse Darate hain’ has made the history.
